Chardham Yatra Packages
Chardham is the most important religious sites for Hindus. According to Hindu mythology, those who belong from the Hindu community must do Chardham yatra once in a lifetime. The Chardham Yatra believed to be the road to heaven according to the Hindu mythology. According to Mahabharat, the Pandavas after the battle of Kurukshetra did Chardham yatra, and from Kedarnath, they pursued towards heaven for the salvation. Chardham Dham yatra includes the temple, which is situated in the four directions of India. They are Badrinath, Jagannath Puri, Rameshwaram and Dwarka; these temples are of Lord Vishnu.
In Chardham yatra, the whole location is located in the Uttrakhand state of India. The holy places are Badrinath, Kedarnath, Yamunotri, and Gangotri. Each year millions of pilgrims and believers of Hindu mythology visit Uttrakhand for worshipping their beloved God Shiv. Out of four locations, three pilgrim sites are dedicated to Lord Shiv.
Anyone can do Chardham yatra and can take the blessing of God. The whole Yatra is monitored and governed under the state government, which gets the protection from central forces. Every year the state government declares dates of the Yatra because all the temples are located at the cold mountain area which is covered with snow. The gate of all the temples is kept close during winters. The government decides the opening date each year on some special occasions like on Basant Panchami, Maha Shivratri, etc.
Chardham Yatra Temples
During Chardham Dham yatra of Uttrakhand, you will get a chance to visit four religious spots name Badrinath, Kedarnath, Yamunotri and Gangotri. All the sites can be covered by road, or you can do Chardham yatra by helicopter.
The Yatra starts from Dehradun, or you can take Char Dham yatra package from Haridwar or Kedarnath Badrinath, Amarnath yatra package.
1. Kedarnath Temple
This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva; it is located on the bank of Mandakini River. Kedarnath temple is one of the most sacred temples in the world; it is believed that if you visit this temple, you can earn moksha (Free from the birth cycle). The temple is located at the peak of the Himalayan Mountain. You have to reach the temple by trekking a 22km sharp climb. You can start your journey from Gourikund. People gather here to begin their journey. After reaching there, you can attain the sandhya arti, and if you wake up early at 4 pm, you can get a chance to perform the Maha-Abhishek.
Kedarnath is one of the 12 jyotirlingas, the temple is founded by the Pandavs from Mahabharat time and was reformed and constructed 1220 years ago by Adi Shankaracharya. The temple is located at the height of 3352 meters above sea level.
2. Badrinath Temple
It is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, which is also known as the Badrinath. The temple is located at the height of 3133 meters above seas level. The temple was believed to be a Buddhist place, which was later modified as the Lord Vishnu temple. So it is part of the discussion, but the architecture depicts more than words, which means the beauty of the temple. Shankracharya constructed it in the 7th century.
The temple is situated on the banks of the Alakhnanda river of Chamoli district, Uttrakhand.
3. Yamunotri
The temple is dedicated to goddess Yamuna and Lord Shiv. The temple was destroyed many times due to snow and also restored many times. Maharaja Narendra Shah first built the temple in 1839, which was again restored two times first by Maharani of Jaipur and then by General Thapa. The idol of goddess Yamuna is made up of Black marble, which is beautifully crafted with a chisel.
The temple is located at the Garhwal hills of Uttarkashi district; you have to trek 12 km of the sharp climb to reach the temple. Guesthouse, pilgrim’s centres, and restaurants are constructed here. The height of the temple is about 3293 meters above sea level. You can attain all the poojas in the early morning and during the evening time.
4. Gangotri
Gangotri means river Ganga which worshipped as goddess Ganga. The temple is located at the Uttarkashi district of Uttrakhand on the top of the Himalayan range. The temple is situated on the bank of Bhagirathi River; it is believed that river Ganga’s origin is from this site. The temple is located at the height of 3415 meters above sea level. The Gorkha general Amar Singh Thappa built the temple in the 18th century. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Shiv released river Ganga to this place from its locked hair for the betterment of living beings so that it can supply pure water.
How to begin the Yatra?
The holy Yatra you can start by booking the package, char Dham yatra package cost will sum up around 30,000 rupees each. It also depends upon your package. The travel agencies will define the package you take about food and lodging. You can even start the journey by booking a Chardham yatra package from Haridwar.
It is totally up to you to choose the Yatra; you can also select Ek Dham yatra, do Dham yatra or teen Dham yatra. Because most of the time, it becomes challenging to complete the whole site at once, and the reason is sharp climb and trekking. So, people either choose Chardham yatra by helicopter, or they want any particular location at one time. Only a few people can complete the Chardham Yatra on foot.
If you have decided to do Yatra on foot, then you can book Pithu or Phony, they are the local’s help the visitors on climbing. They tightened the carrier type chair on their back so that one person can sit on that chair. The charges may depend upon you chose the service for one way or round trip. For one way, they take 4500 rupees approximately and around 8000 to 9000 rupees for the round trip. You can also let them carry your luggage instead of seating.
Many visitors take the help of phoney or pithy for climbing, especially the old age people. You can also climb the hill by booking a Khacchar means Donkey or Mule; there are several Kachchar wala available at the spot for the visitors.

- Kedarnath to Guptkashi helipad then,
- Guptakshi to Badrinath helipad then
- Back to the endpoint of the journey from Badrinath helipad to Dehradun helipad.
